GaDOE Grant Opportunities

*NEW*  Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) Program

The 21st CCLC grant is intended to support the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools. The program helps students meet state and local academic standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math, offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs, and offers literacy and other educational services to families of participating children. Applicants may request funds ranging from $50,000 to $350,000 per year based on need and proposed services to the target population. Any public or private organization is eligible to apply.

Computer Science Teacher Credential Grant

The Computer Science Teacher Credential (CSTC) Grant is intended to support broadening participation in K-12 Computer Science (CS) education and to assist in the implementation of O.C.G.A. 20-2-149.3 by providing funding for teacher professional development and training, teacher certifications, and teacher endorsements for middle and high school CS teachers. A maximum of $300,000 in grant funds is available, with a maximum of $15,000 per district. Georgia LEAs are eligible to apply.

Computer Science Teacher Equipment and Community Grant

The Computer Science Teacher Equipment and Community (CSTEC) Grant provides support for all students to engage in computer science experiences. This grant offers professional support for instruction, practice, and pedagogy, including the use of physical computing to engage students in computer science education. A maximum of $200,000 will be awarded in grants for the FY25 school year, up to $10,000 per district. Georgia LEAs are eligible to apply.

Early Literacy Alignment Mini Grant

The Early Literacy Alignment Mini Grant (ELA Mini Grant) provides up to $5,000 funding to Georgia public elementary schools seeking to vertically align innovative literacy practices with local child care programs. Specifically, the grant funds strategic partnerships between early care providers and local public elementary schools as they engage in collaborative professional learning to align their literacy practices to facilitate a smooth transition for rising pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students. The ELA Mini Grant is made possible through the generous donations to the Georgia Foundation for Early Care & Learning and to the Georgia Foundation for Public Education via the PEACH Education Tax Credit. Georgia public school administrators in rural counties (population of 35,000 or less) and partnered with a local child care provider that has received a Quality Rating are eligible to apply.

School-Based Health Center Planning Grant, Round 2.1

The School-Based Health Center Planning Grant, Round 2.1 is intended to support a six-month planning process to explore the establishment of a school-based health center within CSI, TSI, ATSI, Tier IV schools, and all rural districts. This grant funds a six-month planning process, up to $10,000, between Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) and their schools, a medical sponsor, and the community. The total amount available to each school that follows through with the planning and startup of a new school-based health center is $1 million. LEAs may apply on behalf of an eligible school in their district.

Teacher Grants for Innovation

Are you a teacher with an innovative project designed to improve learning outcomes and make a measurable impact on your students' lives? Through the Georgia Teachers Initiative, the Georgia Foundation for Public Education is awarding between $500 and $2,500 in Teacher Grants for Innovation to Georgia public school teachers to help bring your creative ideas to life. This grant will remain open, and applications are received on a rolling basis. Applications for each monthly round are due on the 15th of each month. Winners are announced on the 15th of the following month.

IB Exam Fee Initiative Grant

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Exam Fee Initiative Grant is intended to support local districts with funds to assist with payment for the fee reduction and STEM IB exams offered in high schools with the International Baccalaureate program. A maximum of $319,000 will be awarded in grants for the 2024-25 (FY25) school year, with up to $40,000 per district.
